Myriad foresees more manufacturers with product catalogs benefiting SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA (June 12, 2007) – Myriad Software wrote the interface that changed the world for Bassett Furniture Direct retailers and customers. By integrating Bassett’s electronic product catalog with both Myriad’s Eclicktic® business system and its wireless Browser this year, Myriad has exponentially increased the speed and accuracy of Bassett sales information. “Through the Eclicktic system, Bassett dealers are able to check stock at the warehouse, expediting processing and delivery,” explains Carolyn Crowley, Myriad Software president and co-founder. “And with our wireless Browser,” she adds, “Bassett floor staff can check manufacturer’s inventory online, providing real-time, correct information, including retail pricing. Shoppers are able to select products that are readily available and can be delivered very soon.” Crowley and her co-founder partner, Russell Higgins, who leads Myriad’s research and development team, have forged a cutting-edge technology path for the company and its clients. Both come from the retail side of the furniture industry. Both believe that success today and going forward is dependent on integrating the latest advances in technology. Bassett agrees. According to Steve Harmon, Bassett vice president of information technology, “With this capability, our retail stores will significantly reduce order-entry error and add speed to product delivery, providing a substantial return on our investment.” Factoring Myriad’s wireless Browser into the equation does even more. “Myriad’s Sales Browser provides a mobile platform enabling our design consultants to spend more time with consumers,” Harmon adds. “They now have a wealth of product detail and availability information in the palm of their hand.” Importing Bassett’s electronic product catalog into Eclicktic and Myriad’s wireless Browser offers the furniture dealer better selling and servicing. Harmon says the integration promises remarkable efficiency. “We feel that overall order-entry time for custom product will be cut by 50 percent or more.” Can Myriad do the same for other dealers and manufacturers? Absolutely. Crowley believes that more should take advantage of the XML electronic product catalog format that the industry created. To date only a few have. “Paper catalogs are typically outdated before the retailer has even cracked the spine,” she says. “Efficiency and profitability lie in being able to notify retailers of changes daily or weekly. “Now that we’ve imported one electronic product catalog into our Eclicktic system and wireless Browser, there’s no reason we can’t do more,” she says. “The Las Vegas market is a good place to start the discussion.” Entering its 17th year, the majority of Myriad’s clients are mid-size to major independent retailers. The company’s system is also used by the nation’s top dealer programs. For more information, contact sales@myriadsoft.com or call 800-676-4243.
